Non-Profit Volunteer Organizations
Charlotte Yarn is very pleased to announce that we are a drop-off site for Project Linus and Threads of Love.
Project Linus
Project Linus is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides love, security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need through gifts of lovingly created handcrafted blankets and afghans. For more information or to provide support, visit www.projectlinuscharlottenc.org
Threads of Love
'Threads of Love' is a sewing ministry that provides hand-crafted items to newborns who, due to illness or pre-maturity, are unable to go home soon after birth, or to families who experience infant death due to illness, stillbirth, or miscarriage. The ministry is about healing and binding hearts together of parents at a time of uncertainty about their baby's health or when they lose an infant. For more information or to provide support, visit http://www.charlottethreadsoflove.org.
Afghans for Afghans
Afghans for Afghans is a humanitarian and educational people-to-people project that sends hand-knit and crocheted blankets and sweaters, vests, hats, mittens, and socks to the beleaguered people of Afghanistan. This grassroots effort is inspired by Red Cross volunteers who made afghans, socks, slippers, and other items for soldiers and refugees during World Wars I and II and other times of crisis and need. To read more about the program details and find out how to get involved, please go to http://www.afghansforafghans.org/campaign.html.
